The President presides at all meetings. Oversees orders and resolutions of the Board are carried out. Signs all leases, promissory notes, mortgages, deeds and other written instruments, and, in the absence of the Treasurer, signs all checks.
The VP acts in the place and stead of the President in the event of their absence, inability or refusal to act, and shall exercise and discharge such other duties as may be required by the Board. The Vice President also provides direction to and support for any and all committee chairpersons.
Records the votes and keeps the minutes of all meetings and proceedings of the Board and of the Members. Maintains any and all social media communications, edits and publishes the quarterly newsletter. Oversees the duties of the Treasurer in their absence or upon the vacancy of that office.
Having Sentry manage the community affords the luxury of support from professionals overseeing and maintaining the HOA’s finances. The purpose of the Treasurer is to provide additional support to the distribution of the financial obligations of the community.
The Member-at-large does not have specific duties but is responsible for keeping current with the business of the community in the event of a vacancy of any office not including the President. They also offer the tie-breaking vote in the event of a deadlocked decision.
Community Manager –Jeff Rowles
The community manager works with the HOA board of directors. Jeff is there to offer insight and guidance based on his years of experience. He is well versed in the duties of an HOA, as he was the president in his development. He has also earned the Community Association Institute’s CMCA designation, a professional credential signifying he has the knowledge to manage community associations and guide HOA boards. He strives to ensure that all board decisions cannot be challenged in court and to assure there is enough money in reserves to maintain assets without the need for a special assessment. To quote Jeff, “It all goes back to helping others.”
