Trash, Recycling, and Yard Waste

The town provides required bins for separated trash and recycling.

  • Trash is collected every Wednesday
  • Recycling is collected every other Wednesday
  • Yard Waste is collected every Monday

If the week starts with a holiday, pick-up will be pushed back one day.
Refer to the calendar to keep track of the recycling pick up days.  Cans must be removed from the street by the end of the next day after collection.

Recycling:  For a complete list of what to recycle and what not to recycle in the provided bins, refer to the town’s Recycling Basics webpage.

Yard Waste includes grass clippings, leaves, pine needles, small twigs and branches (less 4 feet in length and 6 inches in diameter).  Anything larger will require homeowners to arrange for removal at an additional charge.  For service, contact the Public Works Department (919) 552-5920.

For more detail, refer to the town’s Yard Waste webpage.

HOA Meetings

HOA meetings are normally held quarterly (occurring in February, May, August, and November) on the second Tuesday of the month at 7pm at the clubhouse. Please come out to voice your concerns, meet the board members, and your neighbors!

Modifications to your Home

Trying to make your home more “you”? We all like to add our personal touch, but when you live in a community governed by an HOA, there are some inherent guidelines that must be followed.
The first, and most important step is to make sure that you have the proper permits as required by local building ordinances. The next, run it past the HOA’s Board of Directors and Architectural Review Committee for compliance. We are mostly concerned with mods to the exterior or that can be seen from the street, since what you do inside your home is your business. We aren’t looking to prevent you from doing anything, we just need to make sure that whatever it is, fits in with the master plan for the community.

Common Requests
  • Exterior Paint Color
  • Tree Removal
  • New Roof
  • Fences
  • Sheds

The fastest way to engage us is by way of the Architectural Request Form.

If your request is a matter of personal and property safety, then you may take action prior to approval. This also applies to tree removal. When submitting a request, make sure to include copies of those permits you just pulled. We treat all homeowners the same, and ask that you respect the Covenants for which you signed. We do our best to get you a response as soon as possible so that you can get started on your project. Good luck and remember, safety first!
